Hints and Tips

About your Microwave
Microwave ovens do not generate any heat themselves but instead cause water molecules in food to vibrate. This vibration produces heat that cooks the food. This is why your food will come out of the microwave piping hot, when your utensils inside the microwave stay much cooler.
Microwaves cannot go through metal, so the inside of the appliance is lined with metal. The door is lined with a fine metal mesh which stops microwaves getting through.
Cleaning
Avoid using scouring pads, steel wool or other abrasives. Warm soapy water and a sponge should get rid of all moisture and food spillages.
How to get the best cooking results
Reheat
With five microwave power levels to choose from, you can ensure all your food is cooked or re-heated to the optimum temperature.
Auto-Defrost
This microwave has automatic defrost settings, all you have to do is input the weight of the food and the microwave selects the ideal defrost time.
Auto Cook Menus
The RHM2563 also features pre-programmed auto cook menus such as pizza, fish and popcorn, allowing you to cook all your favourite food at the push of a button
Avoiding Mishaps
To avoid any microwave mishaps it is recommended to take extra care with the following:
Low moisture foods (eg. cereals, bagels, dried pasta, pulses and chocolate)
– These must be cooked on a low power level for a very short length of time, or preferably not at all.
High sugar content foods (eg. jams, syrups)
– These foods can become easily ‘super-heated’ when cooked in a microwave oven.
Foods containing alcohol
– Foods with an alcohol content must not be cooked in a microwave as they could ignite.
Foods with a membrane or outer skin (eg. fruits, sausages, potatoes)
– Food with a sealed or none porous skin must be pierced to allow pressure and steam to escape.
The Russell Hobbs RHM2563 microwave has a stylish and professional outlook, boasting an attractive mirror door finish. As well as an appealing look, this appliance also includes impressive functionality, with 900 watts of microwave power providing quick and convenient cooking in your home.
The RHM2563 from Russell Hobbs has a spacious 25 litre cavity capacity, comfortably fitting a large size dinner plate. It comes with a removable and dishwasher safe glass turn-table for easy cleaning.
Additional features include a handy digital clock and count-down timer, and for added peace of mind, the RHM2563 comes with a child safety lock option, preventing young children from being able to open the microwave door

Mr. M. Platt –
Superb product, well engineered and great value for money.
Delivered promptly and so easy to set up. The stainless steel finish is excellent. Easy to use too and has special additional settings for defrosting and even a separate ‘potato’ button. A nice decent size too which can accommodate the larger dinner plates easily. Value for money on this is remarkable at £129. Five Stars and well done Russell Hobbs, an underrated manufacturer.

Even Cook
The interior of my old microwave disintegrated due to lack of care on my side so replaced it with this one after much research. Had it a couple of weeks now and really like it. Easy to use, the defrost function actually works well as it does not end up cooking the food. Also like the even cooking, especially reheating.A couple of pointers is to have a cloth neraby as the front needs a wipe every now and then to maintain the mirror finish which I have to say is impressive. Lets face it a microwave is not only a cooker it is a piece of furniture so should look good in any kitchen/utility room. I also look after it. It is wise to clean the inside every now and then and wipe it dry not just for hygiene but also to preseve the life of the microwave. Some comments left said that thee light is dim which it is when looked at from a distance but get up close and it is fine. Never bothered me as I don’t know what I am looking at as a microwave cooks from the inside out anyway! Very happy with the purchase.

This is a decent-sized, attractive microwave which, two …
This is a decent-sized, attractive microwave which, two months in, has worked well so far. I use it mainly for re-heating food, rather than actual cooking, so I cannot comment on some of the features, but it looks as though it will prove durable and reliable. The timer dial is slightly idiosyncratic – if it is turned clockwise even slightly, this accesses the programmed cooking menu, whereas an anti-clockwise turn of the dial is required for countdown-timed cooking. The dial begins at a large number and has to be turned through several revolutions to scroll down to the required (in my case, short) re-heating time. This process is not complicated, justly slightly more ‘clunky’ than really necessary.

Disappointing!
We first purchased this microwave last year, the microwave looks good with its mirrored door, itâs very easy to clean and worked well until one evening it tripped our electrics and stopped working. We informed Amazon who were brilliant and a replacement was sent. The new microwave was on its second use just ten days after receiving it and the same thing happened as with the first microwave. Needless to say, this one is being returned too.A very disappointing microwave from a well know brand!

Happy with this.
Works well, looks good. When cooking is finished it beeps 5 times at a reasonable volume (unlike some makes that can be deafening!)I hope the interior light bulb lasts a long time, because it can only be changed by a qualified service engineer; the user guide says if the bulb fails while still within the 12 month warranty the retailer will replace the whole oven! The light remains on when the door is open, so remember to close the door when not in use to save energy.”Stainless Steel” in the description applies only to the door and control panel, the rest is painted metal. I hoped it would be entirely stainless steel because my previous microwave oven (a different make) rusted inside; however, that was after 20 years use so I expect this will be good enough.Easy to use provided you refer to the user guide, otherwise you wouldn’t have a clue; the abbreviations on the display make no sense. You wouldn’t guess that “dEF1” means defrost by weight, or “A-8” means cook 550g of porridge! Don’t worry about this, you soon get used to it, just don’t lose the user guide!
