The Dhaka Range

The Dhaka Rug brings you the ultimate in natural furnishings. It features a simple rug woven entirely from sustainable jute. Many of our ranges use jute but, in the Dhaka range, it has been hand woven with braided detail.

These lovely products are hand woven by skilled artisan weavers. Strips of jute are braided and stitched together to give a pleated and striped pattern. The result is a simple flat weave rug around a centimetre in thickness. This makes them ideal for placement under furniture as well as in an open room.

The rugs are reversible and they can be rolled up when not in use. They can be shaken or spot cleaned. Please note that since jute is a natural crop, with no dye or chemicals, the colour of your rug may have natural variations and may also vary from the photographs shown

Love is the Rug here at Second Nature Online. No matter how much our products have evolved and diversified over the years, rugs have always been our heart’s desire. There are many beautifully crafted pieces out there and we have travelled far and wide to find the perfect ranges.

Our rugs are mostly flat woven on traditional wooden hand looms and there is no machinery involved. We specialise in rag rugs, braided rugs, kilims and dhurries.

💪 DURABLE & STURDY – This rug is made to last! The way the strips of jute are woven, gives as aresult a simple flat weave rug around a centimetre in thickness. This makes them ideal for placement under furniture as well as in an open room. The finished piece is reversible meaning that it can be rolled up when not in use. It can be shaken, or spot cleaned if necessary. If placing on a hard floor with heavy footfall, then you may wish to use rug mesh or similar to hold the rug in place.

The flat weave style is hand woven on a traditional loom and no machinery is involved. Each one is unique. Each rug is individually numbered so that you can be sure of its unique handling and its ethical source. Our certification fees help to fund premises inspection and education centres for children and young people.
