Robust headboard but…
…the struts which fix it to the bed are too short. Another 6″ at the bottom of the struts and 9″ at the top of them would mean the struts could also be supported by both the base of the bed and by fixing them to the second and/or third horizontal insert. Easy enough to trim. I realise strut thickness has to be limited because most headboard bolts are short. I set my headboard slightly lower and screwed it to the second insert as well. See pics. The Allen keys BTW were no problem, just don’t snatch at them.

Good quality & value with some assembly issues
For the price this is a good product but I can see why others have issues/complaints.Assembly – Headboard relatively easy to put together but the supplied long allen key screws are very soft. This means if you need to put any force to screw them in the head strips leaving you unable to get them in or out. Thankfully there was a spare long screw so I used mole grips to removed the one damaged screw I encountered and replaced with the spare.Potentially you could try and screw then in and out before assembly to ensure you wont have issues. I you feel too much resistance you could always drill the offending hole slightly wider/deeper before proper assembly.The supplied allen key is quite short so difficult to apply any force, I used my own.Fitting the struts to attach to the bed is made more difficult because there are no pre drilled holes. There are instructions and anyone even remotely competent can manager but I am not sure why pilot holes were not pre drilled, it would make things easier.Someone said they thought there was too much flex in the head board because of the pre drilled holes in the struts. I agree about the flexibility but think it more to do with it is a relatively thin piece of soft wood. It didn’t matter to me as the headboard goes against a wall and, therefore, can’t flex. You could add a further piece of wood or metal to brace the headboard if required.Overall I think a good value product that would be five star with some tweaks from the manufacturers. If you buy the headboard just take note of the issues I found and you should be fine.

This was easy to assemble as it screws together. Advantage as you can set the two support bars to fit any bed holes.

Positives- the wood itself is good quality for the money. Looks good when put together.Negatives – the screw’s appear to be very cheap quality. Out of 6 screws only 1 went in without any problems, 3 had to be hammered in because only went in so far and the heads became stripped so couldn’t take them out either. One just wouldn’t go in at all, not even one rotation so had to leave out.The wood is also very rough in places with splinters breaking off. Fixed this with sanding and painting.

Images on instruction sheet faded and tricky to see, but easy enough to work out. Allen key supplied not robust enough for job, but pretty sturdy when built and good value for price.

After sales service was very good
I had a couple of issues regarding this headboard, the first being that on assembly a split developed along a piece of the grain. This was simply a weakness in the timber, which could be blamed on nothing but nature. The other issue was a split in another section, that really should have been discovered during manufacture before sending out.The company does move very quickly to resolve any problems and responded immediately to my request for replacement parts. In view of this, I award them five stars for customer service following a quality issue.

Compatibility
This is exactly as you expect it to be, but it’s a shame it’s not compatible with the same size bed, it just does not fit with it. Perhaps the design could be modified.
